Demi Lovato is officially off the market. The award-winning singer and actor tied the knot with Jordan “Jutes” Lutes in a romantic, private ceremony at the Bellosguardo estate in Santa Barbara, Calif., on May 25.

Lovato, 32, and Lutes, 34, first met in early 2022 while co-writing music for Lovato’s album “Holy Fvck.” The connection was instant, creatively and romantically. What started as a studio session quickly turned into a whirlwind relationship, full of red carpet appearances, joint interviews, and major milestones.

The Proposal

Lutes proposed to Lovato in December 2023 during a candlelit evening that included hundreds of roses, a custom pear-shaped diamond ring, and a very excited “yes.”

In an interview on The Viall Files, he shared, “I wrote a song — I’m not a guitar player, but I can kind of play some chords. So it took me like a week just to write the chords for this song.” Lutes practiced until he could ask, “Will you marry me?” without mistakes.

Lutes later admitted he “almost broke down crying a few times” during the performance and had Demi’s team craft the perfect distraction to catch her off guard.

It was a proposal rooted in creativity, emotion, and a shared understanding — a harmonious prelude to a marriage grounded in mutual love and artistic connection.

The Wedding

Fast-forward to May 2025, and the couple exchanged vows in front of a small group of friends and family at a historic mansion once owned by reclusive heiress Huguette Clark. The estate, known for its old-Hollywood glam and lush gardens, served as the perfect backdrop for the couple’s intimate ceremony.

Lovato’s longtime friend and event planner brought their vision to life with thoughtful, personal touches. The florals — a dreamy mix of soft lilacs, cream roses, and deep burgundy blooms — reflected the couple’s favorite hues and added warmth to the garden setting.

The ceremony featured live acoustic performances from artists the couple holds close to their hearts, giving the moment a deeply emotional soundtrack. Guests dined on a curated plant-forward menu and sipped champagne beneath twinkling string lights.

What They Wore

Lovato stunned in a custom Vivienne Westwood pearl-white gown with a corset bodice and flowing train. They later changed into two more bridal looks throughout the night, including a satin reception dress and a third couture moment for dancing. Lutes kept it sleek and classic in a tailored Saint Laurent tuxedo.

The couple added their signature humor into the ceremony by playing rock-paper-scissors to decide who would say their vows first. Of course, Lovato won.

Identity, Visibility, and Love

Lovato, who identifies as nonbinary and pansexual, uses both she/her and they/them pronouns. They first came out as nonbinary in 2021 and have since spoken openly about their fluid identity and how their partner has embraced every part of who they are.

“I’ve always known I was hella queer,” Lovato previously shared in a 2021 podcast interview. “And it feels good to be seen fully.”

Their new spouse, Lutes, has been an active part of that journey. The Canadian-born musician has called Lovato “the love of my life” and frequently shows support for LGBTQIA+ causes, making the pair a visible and powerful couple within the queer community.

Public Support and Representation

Since the wedding news broke, fans have flooded social media with congratulations and support. Many praised the couple not just for their love but for the joy and pride they exude in being exactly who they are.

Representation matters — especially for queer people who rarely see high-profile celebrations of love that look like theirs. Lovato’s visibility as a nonbinary person in love, in commitment, and in happiness makes a major statement.
