Hutchins’ friends and family have rallied in the wake of the tragedy. Jenner, visibly shaken, admitted she was going through “tough times” when approached by the Daily Mail, and has opened her Malibu home to Hutchins’ mother, Amy, to keep her close to her daughter’s resting place at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery in Culver City.

Hutchins and Jenner’s bond stretched back a decade. Introduced by a mutual hairstylist in 2015, Hutchins moved in with Jenner in 2017 and took on the role of her talent manager. Despite persistent tabloid whispers, Hutchins always maintained their relationship was strictly platonic and familial.

On the morning of July 2, Hutchins, 29, was riding a 2013 Polaris all-terrain vehicle along Decker Canyon Road in Malibu, just steps from Jenner’s home. Authorities say her ATV clipped the rear bumper of a gray 2016 Mazda, causing her ATV to veer off the shoulder of the road and over a 350-foot ravine.

Emergency responders pronounced Hutchins dead at the scene. According to People magazine, who obtained her death certificate, the manner of death was ruled accidental, with multiple blunt force injuries listed as the cause. Investigators do not believe alcohol or drugs played a role, though toxicology results remain pending. Law enforcement sources told The Sun that speed may have been a factor, but there’s no indication Hutchins suffered from any chronic health issues prior to the accident.

Jenner and Hutchins had an interesting bond — yet they always insisted it was strictly platonic. According to Page Six, Jenner first crossed paths with Hutchins in December 2015 at a mutual friend’s holiday party. A month later, fate brought them together again at a MAC Cosmetics photoshoot, where their mutual hairdresser officially introduced them. In 2017, Hutchins moved into Jenner’s Malibu guest house — converted into her office — and took the reins as Jenner’s talent manager, stepping into the role once held by Kris Jenner.

Together, they co-piloted the Caitlyn Jenner Foundation, which advanced grants and programs for transgender equality. Hutchins later founded LUMASOL, a health-tech sunscreen venture. Despite a 46-year age gap and countless red-carpet appearances — including Pre-Grammy galas and Academy Awards functions — both women vehemently denied any romantic involvement.

“I don’t want controversy. I am just trying to live my life. Caitlyn is a parent to me. I have said that a million times. It is a parental, familial relationship,” Hutchins told People magazine. “I feel so blessed and humbled to be a part of such an amazing family, and that she treats me like a daughter. I feel blessed that we are able to work together.”
