Somebody’s Lying: McDonald’s Owner Claims Surveillance Footage Proves Employee Did Not Write ‘F*cking Pig’ on Police Officer’s Cup [Photo]

A police officer in Junction City, Kansas, went public with a story about how a McDonald’s employee wrote the words ‘F*cking Pig’ on a coffee cup before giving it to him in the drive-thru.

According to the owner of the McDonald’s, video footage proves none of their employees actually wrote it.

In a since-deleted Facebook message posted Sunday, Herrington (Kan.) Police Chief Brian Hornaday posted a photo of a coffee cup one of his officers claimed to have received after going through the restaurant’s drive-thru. “F—–g pig” was written on the cup.

“This is what he paid for,” Hornaday wrote. “To have something like this to start off your workday while you’re driving to the place where you are going to serve its citizens, is just very frustrating.”

The restaurant quickly tried to make amends by offering a free lunch to the officer, but later determined none of the employees wrote anything on the officer’s cup.

“My McDonald’s have the utmost respect for all members of law enforcement and the military and were troubled by the accusation made,” owner Dana Cook said in a statement to KSNT, a Topeka NBC affiliate. “We thoroughly reviewed our security video from every angle, which clearly shows the words were not written by one of our employees. We look forward to working with Chief Hornaday as he continues his investigation.”

Cook plans to show the footage to Chief Hornaday before releasing it publicly.

That’s a bad move. Dana Cook should release the footage to the public ASAP — you know how the police work.

Update: The officer has been FIRED for making the entire thing up.
