Derek Fisher is costing Matt Barnes a lot of money.
Matt was fined $35,000 by the NBA for defending his violence towards Derek in regards to their incident back in October.
“Violence is never the answer, but sometimes it is,” Mat told the Daily News and two other New York-based reporters. “And unfortunately, it happened. I don’t regret it.”
NBA Executive Vice President of Basketball Operations Kiki Vandeweghe wasn’t here for that quote, and says it “does not reflect the who we are as a league or the character of our players.”
He continued, “His words are unacceptable and entirely inconsistent with the core principles of this game and the NBA.”
If you’re keeping up, Matt earned a 2-game suspension for the incident in which he lost about $64,000 in wages — and now this $35,000 incident.
