By now, you’re probably familiar with Libs of TikTok, an X (formerly Twitter) account run by right-wing influencers Corey DeAngelis and Chaya Raichik. The account, which now identifies as a media and news company, is known for sharing some pretty heavy content. If it’s not calling the left a “death cult,” it’s going after educators (the few we have left) for being nonbinary, or putting someone on blast for getting emotional over their relatives being Trump supporters.
Basically, Libs of TikTok uses people’s own content against them. So if you post anything online that even slightly goes against the unwritten MAGA code, the account will likely find it and make it public. That’s exactly what happened to educator Anthony Nicodemo, who happens to be gay and was essentially doxxed by the account. Here’s what went down.
Here’s What Led to a Gay Teacher Being Doxxed by MAGA Supporters
Anthony Nicodemo is an openly gay basketball coach and high school special education social studies teacher in New York. He was doxxed by Libs of TikTok, which has essentially become MAGA central, for posting a sign in his classroom. The account has a long history of targeting liberals and the LGBTQIA+ community, and Nicodemo became yet another one of its targets.
You should know Nicodemo is deeply involved in his community’s political and LGBTQIA+ organizations, holding seats on several boards, as he explained in a July 2024 Instagram post. So it’s not exactly surprising that he’s outspoken about today’s political climate. Ahead of the 2025-2026 school year, he decided to hang a poster in his classroom (and share the moment on Instagram) that read “Fascists Fear Teachers” in bold letters for his students to see.
His message wasn’t aimed at any one person but rather at fascism as an ideology. It was essentially a warning about fascists and the lengths they will go to silence those who don’t conform with their beliefs, like some teachers who encourage students to be open-minded and think for themselves. Adolf Hitler and Benito Mussolini are just two infamous examples of fascist leaders who not only silenced educators but also took countless innocent lives in the process.
Apparently, though, Libs of TikTok took issue with the sign, partly because many have compared President Donald Trump to fascism. The account reposted Nicodemo’s video and encouraged like-minded followers to contact his district, even sharing certain contact information. As a result, Nicodemo’s superintendent received what the teacher later described to LGBTQ Nation as “horrendous voicemails.”
The Gay Teacher Doxxed by MAGA Isn’t Staying Silent
While Nicodemo admitted that the backlash following Libs of TikTok’s repost of his video, which showed his “FASCISTS FEAR TEACHERS” sign and him proudly wearing the Pride flag around his wrist and neck, got intense, he’s not backing down. But he did say that things “got so nutty” he had to step back from social media for a bit.
Since then, Nicodemo has made his accounts public again and spoken with media outlets, saying that while he “can take the hits,” he’s “saddened” and “fearful for my people in our community who can’t, who don’t have the support of an administration or don’t have the ability to handle these kinds of attacks.”
