Now that Lifetime’s Aaliyah biopic is back on with Executive Producer Wendy Williams and Alexandra Shipp taking on the lead role of Aaliyah, former lead Zendaya Coleman posted a series of videos explaining the real reason why she dropped out.

In the clips, she says that it had absolutely nothing to with people saying she wasn’t talented enough or that she wasn’t black enough. She says she dropped out because of the lack of production value, the issues with the rights to Aaliyah’s music, and because she felt morally wrong doing the movie without the support of Aaliyah’s family.

Zendaya also sent well wishes to her replacement Alexandra Shipp.
