Reality TV star Tiffany “New York” Pollard says she sees herself in the nonbinary community — and she’s proud. In 2023, she publicly came out as queer and described herself as nonbinary. During an appearance on “The Jason Lee Show,” she joked that she “talks like a man, and thinks like a man.”

Pollard’s bond with the LGBTQIA+ community runs deep. She first became an icon on VH1’s “Flavor of Love” in 2006, and ever since, “the girls and the gays” have adored her. She’s since become reality TV royalty, appearing on shows like “Celebrity Big Brother” and “House of Villains.” Fans have also spotted her on “RuPaul’s Drag Race” and at gay clubs across the country. She’s never hesitated to declare how much she loves her LGBTQIA+ fans — and now, she’s opening up about how she connects to the nonbinary community.

In an interview with PinkNews ahead of her new OUTtv competition show, Pollard said her gender expression doesn’t fit into a box. Some days she feels more masculine. Other days, she’s completely femme — and she’s good with that. “I really do resonate with non-binary because I feel like we are so dual without even recognizing it,” she told the outlet. Pollard explained the feeling of duality as part of a lifetime of self-discovery. She said she often feels “more masculine” than feminine. The star also described how moments from her youth helped open her eyes to that fluidity.

“The first time I ever really kissed a girl, I think it was in junior high, and I knew, and it was fine. It felt good, it felt right. It had to happen at some point,” Pollard said. “You’re gonna come out of that closet and once you do, it’s like, ‘OK, wow, this world is open to me in new ways and sweetie, shoving me back in the closet is never going to be an option.’”

Tiffany Pollard’s new reality show celebrates the LGBTQIA+ community.

Pollard is doubling down on her support for the LGBTQIA+ community, with her new OUTtv reality series. The reality TV legend stars as host and executive producer of “Slayers: Wheel of Fate,” an eight-episode competition that drops contestants into a campy, fantasy world. The series premiered on OUTtv/OUTflix on Oct. 8, and it’s exactly the kind of over-the-top, queer-forward content New York lives for.

“To do a show like [Slayers] and to be involved, it was just like, sign me up. I was just grateful that I have the connection that I do with my queer fanbase,” Pollard told PinkNews.

In the series, ten queer contestants move into “Castle Chaos,” facing physical and mental challenges while trying to outwit one another. Overseeing it all is Queen Karen — a delightfully evil villain who runs a dragon-themed gambling ring. Each week, one player gets “eaten” in dramatic, campy fashion, and the final survivor who out-slays the rest wins a cash prize sponsored by the queer dating app Taimi.
