Last week, North Korean leader Kim Jong Un was reportedly brain dead and close to death following a botched heart surgery.
This week, Korean Central News Agency reports that Kim made his first public appearance since April 11 when he attended a ceremony on Friday celebrating the completion of a fertilizer factory near the capital of Pyongyang.
The appearance could not be verified by national news outlets, including the Associated Press and Reuters.
NK News has posted photos that appear to be Kim.
