Megan Thee Stallion might be bringing her body-ody-ody over to Sports Illustrated.
According to a new report, Megan is set to be one of the next cover girls for the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit issue this year.
via Page Six:
“She’s the biggest star [right now], so it’s a no-brainer and they love surprises,” the source said.
While it’s unusual for musicians to grace the cover rather than models, she wouldn’t be the first. Beyoncé has also appeared on the front of the famed issue.
The magazine has been teasing its inside-the-book lineup all year. It will make some history by featuring models like its first transgender model of color, Leyna Bloom, and Lewis Freese, the brand’s first male candidate to become a finalist in the SI Swim Search, a section where amateur models can try and make it into the famed issue. COVID nurse Maggie Rawlins is also one of the bikini models.
A cagey spokesperson first told us they didn’t believe the rapper was a part of the issue before having to take a “meeting with the team.” After the conference, they explained, “[The Sports Illustrated team] actually still don’t even know who the cover girl will be. Still undecided. No one will know until the day of the unveiling.”
Reps for Megan would not confirm or deny the rapper’s participation in the issue.
But an industry source told us we should expect to see even more of her in the coming months.
“She’s working on a new album. It makes sense that she would get a huge cover like that,” they said.
Not to mention, Megan, 26, has gotten a lot of practice posing in tiny bikinis for her second swimwear collection for Fashion Nova.
We’ll see what happens. The magazine will hit stands on July 19.
