The long-awaited battle Instagram between Teddy Riley and Babyface was all set to take place on Saturday night, but got completely derailed because Teddy was trying to do the most.
The two legends were supposed to battle their hits in front of a history-making Instagram Live audience of 400K people. While Babyface was ready in his studio, by himself, and had a simple Instagram-ready set-up — that was NOT the case for Teddy.
As the battle began, Teddy’s audio became so bad with echos and delays that the event was completely ruined.
The battle was supposed to start at 9 p.m., but by 10 p.m. it was apparent the audio needed to be fixed so they stopped and told viewers to come back at 10:30 p.m.
Shortly after 10:30 p.m., Babyface suggested it’d be better to postpone the battle.
“Tonight was really special … it’s only right that we postpone this thing and do it at a time when there aren’t any technical difficulties and everybody can hear the music the way it needs to be heard,” Babyface said in an Instagram video.
Later, it was revealed on social media that the Teddy had an ENTIRE production crew with him (defying all types of social distancing orders) and was simultaneously broadcasting his audio on his own platform — not Instagram — which caused the audio mishaps.
this makes me so mad.
he couldn’t just get with the program he had to be greedy and incorporate his own — fucked it up for everyone.

So Teddy actually has a platform ready to take these battles too another level & people don’t want to support it because it’s “greed” ? https://t.co/ZYu0xeDJdI

If and when the battle is rescheduled, let’s hope Teddy learned from this and comes ready.
