Miley Cyrus has toned down her image in recent months, but the 24-year-old is still no stranger to controversy.
In a recent interview with Billboard, Miley made a few controversial comments about rap music — basically saying that while her 2013 album Bangerz was heavily influenced by the genre, she’s at a point in her life where she can’t relate to typical rap lyrics.
She said
“I also love that new Kendrick [Lamar] song [“Humble”]: ‘Show me somethin’ natural like ass with some stretch marks.’ I love that because it’s not ‘Come sit on my dick, suck on my cock.’ I can’t listen to that anymore,” she explained. “That’s what pushed me out of the hip-hop scene a little. It was too much ‘Lamborghini, got my Rolex, got a girl on my cock’—I am so not that.”
Of course, Miley has since been accused of using hip-hop culture to her benefit before discarding and criticizing it. She took to Instagram to respond to the backlash and clarify her comments.
