‘Hamilton’ creator Lin-Manuel Miranda said Donald Trump is going ‘straight to hell’ in response to Trump’s criticism of Puerto Rican officials.

Miranda, 37, made the proclamation in a Saturday morning tweet replying to one from Trump, who wrote earlier in the day that that San Juan Mayor Carmen Yulín Cruz had been “told by the Democrats” that he needed to be “nasty” toward the American President.
“You’re going straight to hell, @realDonaldTrump. No long lines for you,” Manuel tweeted. “Someone will say, ‘Right this way, sir.’ They’ll clear a path.”
Miranda, who was born in New York, has deep familial roots in Puerto Rico. He’s set to release a song on Oct. 6 that he wrote to raise money for the island, which
Trump published several tweets criticizing Puerto Rico on Saturday, writing in a series of posts: “Such poor leadership ability by the Mayor of San Juan, and others in Puerto Rico, who are not able to get their workers to help. They … want everything to be done for them when it should be a community effort. 10,000 Federal workers now on Island doing a fantastic job.”
Miranda responded to these tweets as well.
“Did you tweet this one from the first hole, 18th hole, or the club? Anyway, it’s a lie,” he wrote. “You’re a congenital liar.”
Trump’s posts led to backlash from many celebrities beyond Miranda. John Legend tweeted that Trump “continues to dominate the s–ttiest president ever competition,” while Questlove simply wrote “A–HOLE” in a tweet many followers took as a knock at Trump.
“I (think) it’s clear where the ‘poor leadership’ lies @realDonaldTrump,” Lady Gaga tweeted later in the morning. “Puerto Rico is part of the United States. This is our responsibility.”
Comedian Rob Delaney, meanwhile, tweeted, “You literally sent this from a golf course you fat bigot.”
There have been at least 16 deaths reported in Puerto Rico following Hurricane Maria, and the island is currently without power. Citizens continue to seek food, water and supplies in the wake of the devastating storm.
We don’t care where Donald Trump goes as long as he leaves the White House — swiftly.
