It looks like Chelsea Handler really DID get through to 50 Cent.
Last week, 50 made headlines after he encouraged his fans to vote for Donald Trump citing his disagreement with Joe Biden’s tax plan.
Many, including 50’s ex-girlfriend Chelsea Handler, publicly called him out for it.
Notably, Chelsea offered to pay 50’s taxes (because she has the coin!) and said she had to “remind him that he was a Black person” in a later interview.
That last interview didn’t sit too well with some people.
In a Thursday interview with The Breakfast Club, Chelsea apologized for that comment, and also confirmed that 50 has since walked back his endorsement of Donald Trump.
“I DM’d him and said, ‘Please give me a call, I don’t wanna do this publicly,'” she said at the 3:50-mark of the video above. “He called me and I just asked him if he was serious.” Chelsea says she told him that she initially thought he wasn’t being serious about supporting Trump, and that if he was, she just wanted to know why. “I [was] not telling him, as a white woman, because I misspoke earlier when I said, ‘I had to remind him he was Black.’ I don’t have any business saying anything like that, so I need to apologize to everyone for saying that, because that’s inappropriate.”
Chelsea says that during her talk with 50, she asked how he could support a “white supremacist” like Donald for president.
“Whether you’re Black or white, it should be a problem for you,” she added. “I asked him, and he was like, ‘No, I was just screwing around… The taxes are a pain in the ass.’ Yeah, but Republicans have told us all how to avoid taxes, so if that’s our goal we can figure out a state to live in where we don’t have to pay our taxes.”
She also reminded him that he has a responsibility as a public figure and made clear he “absolutely” supports Joe Biden.
“He said I could say it on this show,” Chelsea added. “Then he asked me if I was serious about going for another spin with him. I put it on the table, and you know what if I say it I’ll do it.”
Charlamagne thanked her for apologizing for her inappropriate comments, too.
