Florida residents looking for assistance in the wake of Hurricane Irma were offered a very different kind of relief after calling a number distributed by FEMA on Twitter.
In a tweet screen-grabbed by Consumerist, Federal Emergency Management Agency Region 4 urged those seeking disaster relief to call 1-800-ROOF-BLU to connect with “Operation Blue Roof” — a program started to help homeowners fix their damaged roofs.
As it turns out, the number led directly to a phone sex hotline with a woman advertising ‘hot ladies’ for men to speak with.
The correct number isn’t 1-800 but 1-888-ROOF-BLU.

FEMA deleted the tweet shortly after it was posted, but you know the internet doesn’t miss a thing!
1800ROOFBLU is a phone sex line. The correct number is 1888ROOFBLU.
