Queen Latifah is ready to set it off as “The Equalizer” in her new series.

On Saturday (Jan. 9), CBS released the official trailer for the latest reboot of “The Equalizer” series. In the clip, we can see the Queen take on the role of Robyn McCall, a divorced, single mother with a vigilante mentality. McCall hits the streets to assist anyone who’s stuck in a sticky situation that can’t involve the police.

The “Order in the Court” rapper serves as one of the creators of the second reboot alongside executive producer Richard Lindheim, who also co-created the original CBS series starring Edward Woodward as Robert McCall.

This will be the second reboot of the series years after The Equalizer was rebooted as a film starring Denzel Washington. It goes without saying but the Golden Globe nominee has been on a winning streak when it comes to television. Queen Latifah has been extremely busy taking over TV shows like “The Queen Latifah Show,” FOX’s “Star” and “Empire” and even played “Ursula” in “The Little Mermaid Live!” She’s even been killing it behind the scenes as an executive producer of MTV’s “Scream.”

Prior to “The Equalizer,” Latifah had been working on Quibi’s “When the Street Lights Go On.” She starred as an investigator in a suburban town that’s rocked by the murder of a young girl. As the investigation into the killing hangs over them, the victim’s sister and friends struggle to find a sense of normalcy.

When she’s not on set, Latifah is advocating for the safety and health of Black and Brown people across the country. Back in September, the Queen collaborated with the American Lung Association for a live stream fundraiser #Act4Impact, which helped raise money for Black and Latino Americans that have disproportionately been impacted by Coronavirus. The proceeds from the benefit went to the ALA’s COVID-19 Action Initiative, which will give out free masks, invest in research, and brainstorm other solutions that will help to close the disparity gap.

Looks like the Queen is going to have another hit on her hands, catch CBS’ “The Equalizer” starring Queen Latifah premieres Feb. 7 after the Super Bowl.
