Watch: CNN’s Don Lemon Gets Called an ‘Uncle Tom’ on Live Television [Video]

Don Lemon doesn’t have the best track record when it comes to reporting about Black issues (or any issues, really) to mainstream audiences.

During CNN’s coverage of the Emanuel AME Church massacre, one South Carolina woman wanted viewers to know that she’s angry, and she wanted to know if Don is angry too.

In the clip, you see Don in the middle of an interview when the woman comes into frame and begins to ask Don, “Are you angry?”

Don doesn’t acknowledge her presence, so she continues her line of questioning before calling him an Uncle Tom live on air.

For those of you who don’t know, an “Uncle Tom” is defined as:

a black who is overeager to win the approval of whites (as by obsequious behavior or uncritical acceptance of white values and goals)
