Ciara attended the Essence Black Women in Music last week in Los Angeles.

While walking the red carpet, she talked to HipHollywood.com about her new album, Jackie, and why she’s choosing to open up about her past relationship with Future.

“I just feel so many different things now with life and as a woman I feel a whole different confidence and I feel a need to express,” said Ciara.

She added, “I think we need realness … it’s important to me that I get to express myself exactly how I want to as an artist.”

Ciara  also says that she’s confident that Jackie is her best album to date.
