Trevor Noah Renewed as ‘Daily Show’ Host for 5 More Years

Trevor Noah won’t be losing his job anytime soon.

Comedy Central signed him to host The Daily Show for the next five years.

via EW:

Noah has signed a contract keeping him on board as the late-night show’s host for another five years. That means he’ll be on the air through 2020. Noah will also produce and host annual, year-end, Daily Show specials, beginning this year.

“It’s really exciting to renew this contract for either five more years or until Kim Jong Un annihilates us all — whichever one comes first,” Noah said.

Noah took over The Daily Show two years ago from Jon Stewart and had a rocky start for awhile, declining notably in the ratings. This year, Noah’s numbers have continually improved and in May he had his highest-rated week ever. Comedy Central notes that The Daily Show is the most-watched daily late-night talk show among millennial viewers.

Congrats to Trevor!
