Tory Lanez Explains September 25 Release Date of ‘Daystar,’ Says It’s His Mother’s Birthday + Will Donate Portion of Profit to Breonna Taylor Foundation

Tory Lanez dropping his album ‘Daystar’ seemingly capitalizing on a Black woman’s trauma soon after the disappointing indictment connected to the Breonna Taylor case didn’t sit well with too many people.

In a statement to TSR, a rep for Tory explains that he picked the date of September 25 to release his album because it was personal to him.

“Tory’s team exclusively tells us that Tory Lanez chose September 25th to drop “Daystar” as it is the anniversary of the day his mother, Luella Peterson, died. It’s also the same day as her birthday.”

In addition, the rep says that a portion of the profits from ‘Daystar’ will be donated to organizations supporting women, children and victims of violence as well as the Breonna Taylor Foundation.
