Top College Football Recruit Apologizes for Video Showing Him Beating Up a Woman [Video]

Jeffrey Simmons , a five-star defensive end, and the No, 19 overall player in the country, was allegedly caught on video repeatedly punching a woman (alongside another woman) on Thursday night.

Jeffrey is a Mississippi State signee who is currently scheduled to enroll at the school in the summer.

After the videos surfaced, Simmons posted an apology on his Facebook page. In it he claims the one-sided fight was to defend the honor of his deceased nephews. He also apologizes to “the Taylor family” and “especially to Sophie Taylor” though it’s unclear whether or not that’s the victim from the footage:

He has since deleted the post.
