Donald Trump’s presidency hit a new low today — which we didn’t even think was possible — when he referred to Haiti and countries in Africa as ‘shithole’ countries during an Oval Office meeting.
“Why do we want all these people from ‘shithole countries’ coming here?” said Trump when speaking on immigration.
A person familiar with the meeting said Illinois Democratic Sen. Dick Durbin and South Carolina GOP Sen. Lindsey Graham brought a plan to Trump that involved cutting the visa lottery in half and, at the behest of the Congressional Black Caucus, the rest would go to underrepresented countries in Africa and Temporary Protective Status nations, including Haiti.
We’re not surprised Trump made such a racist statement, but it looks like Don Lemon is as fed up as the rest of us.
Opening Thursday’s CNN Tonight, Don declared, “The president of the United States is racist. A lot of us already knew that.”
You already know Donald and The White House will have something to say about this — but who cares.
The president of the United States is racist.
