Terry Crews is defending the set of ‘America’s Got Talent,’ calling it “the most diverse place” he’s ever worked amid NBC’s ongoing investigation into Gabrielle Union’s firing following reports of a “toxic culture” on the set.
As exclusively reported by lovebscott.com, Gabrielle Union was fired after she complained of racism and sexism during her time as judge on the show.

“First of all, I can’t speak for sexism because I’m not a woman, but I can speak on behalf of any racism comments,” Crews, who is the show’s host, said during an interview on the third hour of “Today” on Thursday. “That was never my experience on ‘America’s Got Talent.’”
He added, “In fact, it was the most diverse place I have ever been in my 20 years of entertainment.”
It was announced in November that judges Union and Julianne Hough would be leaving the show after just one season. Soon after, insiders told Variety about an allegedly “toxic” environment on the set, including accusations that Union was told her hairstyles were “too black.”
Crews, 51, went on to say Thursday that he went to his wife, actress Rebecca King-Crews, to ask what he should do and she told him, “If [Union] hasn’t made a statement, why would you?”
Although she has not directly commented on the allegations, Union did tweet that she was “humbled and thankful” for the support after her exit. Fellow celebs Ellen Pompeo and Debra Messing were among those who publicly stood alongside the actress.
In December, Crews tweeted, “You’re the best, Gabrielle! You will be missed,” which promptly received backlash from fans who claimed he hung her out to dry.
Crews said he has not spoken to Union, 47, since the scandal.
“I haven’t reached out, but I haven’t heard anything,” he said.
Maybe he should talk to Gabrielle.
