Almost a month after the two-hour season finale of Empire wowed viewers, Taraji P. Henson returned to the small screen this weekend to deliver an energetic performance as the host of Saturday Night Live.
The sketches themselves were met with mixed reviews from critics and viewers, but there was no denying Taraji’s strong, alluring star power.
During her gig, Taraji parodied HBO’s hit series Game of Thrones (which returns tonight!), impersonated Nicki Minaj and comedian Wanda Sykes and revisited her Empire character Cookie during a Sesame Street segment.
Taraji first opened the show with a monologue and gospel number about having finally made it in Hollywood.
