A shocking video posted on Twitter shows a school bus knock down, then run over a woman as she tries to cross a Brooklyn street.
The victim miraculously survived the Friday crash, suffering injuries that weren’t considered life-threatening, officials said.
The video shows the yellow bus made a right turn at the intersection of Nostrand Ave. and Ave. M as the woman was crossing the street at the crosswalk.
The mirror of the bus slammed into her head and she fell to the ground and was hit and pushed down the street by the passenger-side tire before the bus came to stop.
The shocked driver got out and looked down at the victim.
An NYPD spokesman said the driver remained on the scene and doesn’t currently face charges.
The NYPD’s Collision Investigation Squad, which typically handles fatal and serious crashes, were not assigned to the scene because the woman’s injuries were not life-threatening, the spokesman said.
The initial police report said the victim was “not in an intersection” but the video shows her clearly walking in the crosswalk. Police could not immediately account for the discrepancy.
The video, which was taken by Arista Security, a nearby business, was posted on Twitter by @NYScanner Sunday. A man answering the phone at Arista acknowledged the video but wouldn’t comment about the crash.
