A New Orleans waiter is now out of a job after he unleashed a racial slur towards a patron using a receipt.
What makes matters even worse, is that the waiter’s father is the general manager!

Dakota Crochet, 23, was fired from the French Quarter sports bar this week after the phrase “N—– 100% dislike” appeared on a check he gave to a group of black customers Thursday.
One of the diners, Liryca Neville Branch — the daughter of New Orleans musician Cyril Neville — is now mulling a lawsuit and demanding a personal apology from both the canned waiter and the restaurant’s management.
“I’ve never had anything like this happen before to me,” she said. “Trust me — this is not over. I refuse to let this die out.”
Branch, 33, was eating lunch with three coworkers when they were given a bill with the racial slur in all capitals staring them in the face.
Her mother, Gaynielle Neville — who is married to soul singer Cyril Neville — posted a photo of the racist receipt on Facebook, which started making headlines Friday.
The 21-year-old former server, Melani, who declined to give her last name, said she was shocked when she saw Huck Finn’s appear on her Instagram feed.
She was more surprised to see “Dakota C.” at the top of the bill.
“When I saw it, I wanted to know who the hell printed it. When I saw it was Dakota, I was like you have to be f—- kidding me,” she said. “I never got that from him.”
Melani, who is black, said she never saw any signs of racism from Dakota in the three months they worked together before she was fired in April.
Dakota, whose father is the restaurant’s general manager, joined the staff this February, the former waitress said.
Melani has worked for the Decatur St. eatery on-and-off since 2010.
“I didn’t speak out as much as others may have because I kind of felt indebted to Huck Finn’s,” she said. “I started really young and they really helped me out. But it’s crazy.”
Dakota and his father did not return repeated calls for comment.
Huck Finn’s issued two public statements saying the six-year-old French Quarter sports bar fired the waiter responsible for the “offensive and completely unacceptable” receipt.
We wanna know what’s going on in the Crochet household! His father is either infuriated with his son’s actions, or is trying to figure out how to spin this and save his restaurant.
