A Denver-area charity made Christmas EXTRA merry this season for the homeless by giving out 1,000 joints instead of holiday meals.

“Merry Christmas and a puff puff, New Year’s,” a woman who happily toked up after getting some free reefer told Denver’s KMGH?TV.

Nick Dicenzo, the founder of the non-profit Cannabis Can, hatched the plan to raise cash for the homeless.

“’Cannabis can make a difference,’ is kind of what we’re standing for,” a stoked Dicenzo told the station. “Merry Christmas, Happy Cannamas — would you like some rolling papers?”

The group wants to buy a few RVs and showers and bathrooms for people living on the street, he added.

“A lot of the people we spoke with really were just like, ‘If I had regular access to a shower, and a haircut my life would be so much better. I’d have so much more opportunity,’” Dicenzo said.

“Spread the word, spread the cheer, to give back.”

Even in Colorado, where recreational pot use if legal, it’s still against the law to fire up in public — but you can give herb away as a gift to those 21 and over.
