Say What Now? Couple Kidnaps Repairman, Forces Him To Fix Things at Gunpoint [Video]

What do you do when you can’t afford expensive household repairs? Kidnap the repairman, of course.

According to CBS, Jason DeJesus and Chanelle Troedson were arrested after allegedly kidnapping a handyman at gunpoint, beating him and forcing him to make repairs at their sprawling Morgan Hill home.

“[The handyman] was assaulted, he was threatened with his life, and he was forced to do some work at the house,” said Sgt. Jose Cardoza of the Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Office to CBS. “The victim was pretty terrified.”

According to Gawker, the man spent up to seven hours fixing the dishwasher, repairing a broken door and performing other tasks at the couple’s five-bedroom home that includes a beach volleyball court, a pool and tennis courts.

The couple then forced the man to drive to another home to make more repairs, but not before stopping at a Chevron station to pick up gas and snacks. Once left alone in the vehicle, the man ran to a neighboring home and called 911.

“A blond haired gentleman came to my door, knocking on the door frantically, asking if he could use my phone,” the neighbor told ABC. “He said that he had been kidnapped and beaten, and I could visibly see that he had some injuries.”

Police arrived and arrested DeJesus and and Troedson as they exited the Chevron station.

According to CBS, the abduction was not random: the same handyman had performed work at the home of DeJesus’ mother and had gotten into a dispute over payment two months before.

DeJesus and Troedson face felony charges including kidnapping, false imprisonment, assault with a deadly weapon, criminal threats and conspiracy.
