Say What Now? Influencers Pose in Blackface to Show Solidarity with Black Lives Matter Movement [Photos]

The Black Lives Matter movement is at the forefront of conversation in the United States.

While people are watching the state of our country abroad, many european “influencers” are attempting to show solidarity…in the worst way.

The influencers are sharing photos of themselves in blackface.

Instagram user Saint Hoax captured screengrabs of quite a few examples.

One example was from Lebanese singer Tania Saleh. Tania edited an image of herself, showing her with deep brown skin and an Afro.

‘I wish I was black, today more than ever,’ she wrote. ‘Sending my love and full support to the people who demand equality and justice for all races in the world.’

Although nearly all of them have been reprimanded, some are refusing to take down their photos.

It should be noted that not all of the influencers understand the history of blackface in the United States…but still. One can’t thoughtfully support a movement without understanding the history behind it.

They can keep their performances.
