The head of the Santa Clara police union wrote a letter Friday and has threatened to stop working San Francisco 49ers home games unless the team takes action against Colin Kaepernick for his protests.

Santa Clara cops cover 49ers games at Levi’s Stadium, which is located in the town just outside of downtown San Francisco.

The police union said failure to stop Kaepernick’s police brutality protests — which take the form of sitting or kneeling during the national anthem — “could result in police officers choosing not to work at your facilities.”

The union letter also implied that the 28-year-old quarterback’s actions constitute “harassing behavior” towards men and women in uniform.

In addition to his diehard sit-ins, Kaepernick was spotted wearing socks depicting cops as pigs in photos that surfaced earlier this week.

Kaepernick’s refusal to stand for an anthem which he claims “is not representing people the way it’s supposed to” has drawn both praise and reproach across the country.

Fellow 49er Eric Reid joined him in taking a knee as the anthem blared before a “Salute the Military” event at Qualcomm Stadium in San Diego Thursday evening.

Meanwhile, just a few hours away in Oakland, Seattle Seahawks corner Jeremy Lane remained on the bench as his teammates stood for the Star-Spangled Banner before their faceoff against the Raiders.

On the other side of the aisle, San Francisco cops earlier this week wrote their own letter demanding an apology from the controversial Kaepernick, who has not shown any indication of standing up any time soon.

“We hope your organizations choose to do the right thing and at least apologize to the many officers Mr. Kaepernick has disrespected for no apparent reason,” department President Martin Halloran wrote.

Do the police not realize that Kaepernick’s protest is rooted in the notion that police decide which Americans they protect and serve? They’re proving his point.
