Ronda Rousey is notoriously proud of her body.
As a matter of fact, last summer she did an interview in which she fired back against criticism that her body is too “masculine” with some pretty powerful words.
“People like to say that my body looks masculine,” she said. “I’m like, ‘Listen, just because my body was developed for a purpose other than fucking millionaires doesn’t mean it’s masculine.’ I think it’s femininely badass as fuck because there isn’t a single muscle in my body that isn’t used for a purpose…I’m not a do nothing bitch.”
With her pro-body attitude so well-documented, fans were left a little puzzled when Ronda shared a clearly retouched photo of herself on Instagram.
Ronda later took to Instagram to apologize for the photo, clearing up the fact that it was retouched without her knowledge and that she didn’t realize it until it was already up.
I have to make an apology to everyone – I was sent a picture to share on social for Fallon that was altered without me knowing to make my arms look smaller. I won’t say by who – I know it was done with severely misplaced positive intentions – but this goes against everything I believe and I am extremely proud of every inch of my body. And I can assure you all it will never happen again. I could not be more appalled and hope you all forgive me????????

Shoutout to Ronda for keeping it real! We need more examples of positive body image in this world.
