‘Tis the season to give back with a big heart and a huge check! Rihanna donated 1.75 million dollars to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Bridgetown, Barbados, in memory of her late grandmother, Clara “Dolly” Braithwaite, who recently lost her battle to cancer this past June.

This was my way of giving back to Barbados, in a form of philanthropy, by assisting the QEH in its continued modernization program…I believe that this will have a huge impact on the people of Barbados. This was all done to save lives or at least extend them. – Rihanna via E! News.

Rihanna’s benevolent donation, which led to the radiotherapy department to be renamed the Clara Braithwaite Centre for Oncology and Nuclear Medicine, benefits the hospital in paying for vital supplies and equipment. Rihanna’s act of kindness to the hospital and her country is a beautiful way to honor her, “Gran Gran Dolly”.
