Future (whose real name is Nayvadius Wilburn) and Ciara welcomed a new baby boy, Future Zahir Wilburn, into the world earlier this week.

Little Future, according to the rapper-producer, is “a mixture of both” mom and dad. He told UsWeekly about the meaning behind his son’s name.

“I want him to be better than me,” Future  said of his second child. (The rapper has an 11-year-old son with model Jessica Smith.) “I would encourage him in anything he wants to do,” Future said. “I want to be behind him, of course.”

Before any mentoring takes place, Future will have to tackle another role first: Diaper duty. The rapper told Us he plans to get his hands dirty. “You have to say you did it,” he told Us. “I’ll make sure I change a few diapers — a hands-on Dad!”

Not that he minds at all. The rapper added to Us that having “baby Future” as an addition to the family is “a blessing.”

As far as new mom Ciara goes,

“She’s feeling great,” the new father, 30, told Us of the “I’m Out” singer, 28. (He spoke to reporters at the Bacardi Rum and Vice Celebrate Cuban Independence Day in NYC on Tuesday, May 20, where he had committed to perform.) “She’s with our son right now [in L.A.],” the rapper-producer added. “I just texted her when I got off the airplane, and I’m going to get on the phone with her to see how everything is going.”

We’re really happy for these two and we can’t wait to see the little one!
