Prince Drops New Song 'The Breakdown' + Signs New Deal w/ Warner Bros. Records

Prince dropped a brand new track, “The Breakdown” presumably from his forthcoming album Plectrumelectrum.

In other Prince news, he recently announced a new agreement with Warner Bros. Records (18 years after their very public feud) that will facilitate the release of unheard music and remasters.

As part of the deal, Prince will retain ownership of his master recordings. The partnership also calls for a re-release for the 30th anniversary of Purple Rain.

“A brand new studio album is on the way,” said Prince, “and both Warner Bros. Records and Eye are quite pleased with the results of the negotiations and look forward to a fruitful working relationship.”
