Popeyes has a new sandwich coming to menus — but with the COVID-19 pandemic still raging we HOPE people won’t be standing in crowded lines for it.

The fast food chain announced Wednesday plans to make a splash with a new fish sandwich.
Starting Feb. 11, the Cajun Flounder Sandwich will be available in restaurants and for delivery nationwide for $4.49.
The sandwich is made with a deep-fried, Cajun-seasoned, flaky filet caught in the Pacific Ocean served atop the same buttery toasted brioche bun with barrel cured pickles that customers have become familiar with since the summer 2019 release of the chicken offering. Popeyes’ legacy tartar sauce is smeared on as an accompaniment.
“After seeing the response to our Chicken Sandwich in 2019, we are excited to deliver yet another delicious sandwich to our fans that is sure to reset industry standards,” President of Americas at Popeyes® Louisiana Kitchen, Sami Siddiqui, said with the announcement. “At Popeyes, we don’t take shortcuts on quality and strive to ensure our ingredients are the best of the best. That’s why we’re proud to be serving up the most authentic, Cajun Flounder Sandwich.”
The company has so much faith in the new menu item that they are launching sandwich “insurance” to guarantee customers satisfaction.
For guests who order the new Cajun Flounder Sandwich and don’t like it, Popeyes will replace it with the chicken sandwich for free with purchase of insurance on launch day.
The insurance plan is 15 cents through the Popeyes app.
This isn’t the 48-year-old New Orleans-styled chain’s first foray into seafood.
Its popular popcorn shrimp has become a staple and its super-spicy Wicked Shrimp is a legend in its own right when promoted as a seasonal item. Participating Popeyes locations have also sold fried Cajun fish (whitefish) and calamari rings in recent years.
