Playboi Carti Arrested on Drug, Gun Charges Near Atlanta

Playboi Carti was arrested on drug and gun charges Thursday after deputies stopped his Lamborghini just outside of Atlanta.

The rapper, whose real name is Jordan Carter, was initially stopped for an expired tag, Clayton County Sheriff Victor Hill said Friday in a news release.

Inside the car, deputies discovered 12 bags of marijuana, three guns, xanax, codeine and oxycodone, authorities said.

Carter and another man, Jaylon Tucker, were both arrested and taken to the Clayton County jail.

Carter is the boyfriend of Australian rapper Iggy Azalea. In November, the couple had $350,000 worth of jewelry stolen after someone broke into their Buckhead home, AJC.com previously reported.
