It’s Official: Katy Perry Joins ‘American Idol’ as a Judge

Katy Perry is officially coming to ‘American Idol.’

The singer is the first judge announced to join the show’s upcoming reboot on ABC. ABC Entertainment President Channing Dungey made the announcement Tuesday at the network’s Upfronts in NYC.

Katy wasn’t there for the announcement, but said in a statement she was “honored and thrilled to be the first judge bringing back the American Idol tradition of making dreams come true.”

We wonder who else they’ve selected…
