Nicki Minaj’s brother, Jelani Maraj, appeared in public for the first time on Wednesday after he’d been accused of raping a 12-year-old.
The 37-year-old showed up to to the Nassau County courthouse for a preliminary hearing with the judge and lawyers on the case to set a trial schedule, according to officials.
According to court papers, Jelani had been abusing the 12-year-old girl for several months, most recently the evening of November 30th — the day before he was actually arrested.
“…From about April 1, 2015 until November 30, 2015, the defendant, Jelani Maraj, engaged in a course of sexual conduct against a child,” Maraj’s heavily redacted felony complaint states. “He engaged in these acts with the victim, while knowing (she) was less than 13 years old.”
That would mean the alleged abuse occurred before, during, and after his September wedding to his now wife, Jacqueline.
Nicki has yet to say a word.
