NFL Star Mychal Kendricks Says ‘I’m Out’, Days Ahead Of Sentencing In Insider Trading Criminal Case [Photos]

Seattle Seahawks LB Mychal Kendricks is saying goodbye to his fans days before he’s set to learn how long he will be spending in prison.

The 29-year-old shared a photo of himself looking fine inside during quarantine. He included an ambiguous caption with the post-reading, “I’m out ??”

One friend asked, “Out where?” and another wrote, “Prayers up??.”

“Hopefully you’ll have to just pay the fines ??,” wrote one follower who is clearly aware of Kendrick’s upcoming criminal sentencing. He is facing 25 years in prison on insider trading charges.

Per the deal, he agreed to pay $1.2 million as part of a final judgment. He gave up the right to go to trial or appeal the judgment. Kendricks will cough up a total of $1,188,075, which is around the amount he profited from insider trading. Further, he agrees to not violate the Securities Exchange Act of 1934 moving forward.

Back in October 2018, the NFL star was charged with conspiracy to commit securities fraud and one count of securities fraud. Kendricks was accused of making millions off of insider trading. Prosecutors accused him of using information from a banker friend who worked at an investment firm.

The NFL star gave the banker kickbacks including game tickets, cash, and other luxury perks.

Following the criminal charges being hit Kendricks was released from the Cleveland Browns. He immediately accepted responsibility for the crimes and cooperated with investigators. Months later he would sign a deal with the Seattle Seahawks.

Kendricks is set to be sentenced later this month where he could be hit with 25 years behind bars and $5 million fine. His cooperation with investigators during the investigation is likely to work in his favor.
