With the MET Gala 2025 right around the corner, the excitement is real, and so is the star power behind this year’s LGBTQIA+ committee. From Grammy winners to Broadway legends and Olympic icons, the MET Gala 2025 LGBTQIA+ committee members are set to bring heat, heart, and high fashion to the steps of The Metropolitan Museum of Art.

This year’s Costume Institute exhibit, “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style,” promises to spotlight the art and politics of Black fashion, and the accompanying dress code, “Tailored for You,” invites guests to bring their most personal, precise, and powerfully self-expressive looks. The queer committee members are more than ready to answer that call.

A Theme Designed for Impact: “Superfine” and Tailoring Black Identity

“Superfine: Tailoring Black Style” dives deep into the legacy of Black dandyism—a cultural movement that redefines and reclaims Eurocentric tailoring through a Black lens. The exhibit will explore how fashion has served as both armor and art form, used by Black people to navigate, subvert, and celebrate identity across generations.

From Harlem Renaissance tailoring to gender-nonconforming red carpet moments, “Superfine” is about self-expression that’s stitched with intention. The 2025 dress code, “Tailored for You,” encourages guests to interpret tailoring as a canvas for their narrative, gendered or not, traditional or radical. For the MET Gala 2025 LGBTQIA+ committee members, expect looks as bold as they are deeply personal.

Here are five MET Gala 2025 LGBTQIA+ committee members known for their work and fashion.
