Halloween night became a real-life nightmare last Saturday after a car plowed into a group of trick-or-treaters, killing three people — including 10-year-old Nyanna and her grandfather, Louis.
Nyanna’s mother, Natalia, needs help in covering burial costs for her daughter and father.
Tragedy has struck our family and we are asking for your help. This Halloween we lost two beautiful souls: Nyanna and Louis. Spending time with our family is a priority, so we decided to spend our Halloween creating memories with our girls by trick-or treating in our neighborhood. Unthinkably a car spun out of control and struck our group, instantly taking the lives of Nyanna, who was only 10 years old, and her grandfather, Louis. Louis pushed two of Nyanna’s sisters out of the way of the oncoming vehicle, saving their lives, and died holding Nyanna’s hand.
Nyanna was a beautiful girl. She was a perfect, daughter, sister, and friend. She wanted to be a dancer and had her whole life ahead of her. Her grandfather would take her to school every day and was a major support in her and her sisters’ lives.
Louis was a hero ’till the end. A Vietnam veteran with a purple heart, he died saving his granddaughter’s from death. He died doing what he loved: spending his precious time with his family.
In the end, time is not promised and love is all we have. Having been able to experience the love of Louis and Nyanna’s spirits gives meaning to the word grateful.
The family is seeking donations that will go towards funeral costs and to help the family cope with related expenses.
