Lee Daniels Developing New FOX Drama Series Titled 'Star'

Is Lee Daniels looking to become the Shonda Rhimes of FOX?

Given the enormous success of Empire, FOX is continuing its business relationship with Lee by ordering another music-themed series tentatively titled Star.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Star centers on three young women in Atlanta, Georgia, who form a girl group and are forced to navigate the challenging music business as their success grows.

Lee will write and executive produce Star alongside Tom Donaughy.

Oh, and be on the lookout for a potential Empire/Star crossover, although nothing is set in stone just yet.

By the way, Lee will be looking for girls who can sing and act very soon.
