LeBron James is giving back.

The NBA star has promised full college scholarships to Akron kids currently enrolled in his I Promise program given that they meet certain criteria.

LeBron made the exciting announcement on Twitter.

Although the University of Akron and the LeBron James Family Foundation are still finalizing criteria for the scholarships, students must graduate high school within Akron’s public school system, meet standard testing requirements and fulfill a community service obligation in order to be eligible.

In an awesome move, JPMorgan Chase is volunteering to help students meet the scholarship requirements.

If every student currently enrolled in LeBron’s program meets the criteria, at least 1,100 students could receive free rides to the University of Akron at a cost of more than $41 million.

“These students have big dreams, and I’m happy to do everything I can to help them get there. They’re going to have to earn it, but I’m excited to see what these kids can accomplish knowing that college is in their futures,” LeBron said while announcing the program at Cedar Point Amusement Park in Ohio.

Incredible.
