It’s been three years since Kordell Stewart and Porsha Williams went their separate ways — but for whatever reason Kordell felt the need to talk about Porsha with Steve Harvey.

The former NFL quarterback, who was married to the Bravo personality from 2011 to 2013, reveals to talk show host Steve Harvey on Wednesday’s episode of The Steve Harvey Show that his past relationship with Williams could be described as a “rocky road.”

“When it comes to the institution of marriage, I think it is the highest levels of the Super Bowl of a relationship. And you have that someone that you say, ‘You know what, I want to be with you for the rest of my life. Your breath stinks and all. I want to just be with you forever.’ And that breath that I was smelling was the one that I wanted to be with for the rest of my life. But it got to the point where it got a little too stank,” he explains of being married to Williams in an advance clip.

Reflecting on their two-year marriage, Stewart, 44, says of Williams, “I loved my ex-wife. That’s old and that’s over with Steve. You know I have a 13-year-old kid to raise” and adds that he doesn’t regret being on the reality series.

“What I’ve seen of my ex as of lately conducting herself, just imagine if we were together for five more years with two children. That wouldn’t have been good,” he states and assures that “she left with a lot” when the couple called it quits.

Although he is no longer married to 35-year-old Williams, the Truth: The Kordell Stewart Story author is hopeful that there is a woman out there for him — and is taking what he learned from his failed marriage into a future relationship. “Even thoug it was a rocky road, that was a lesson for me in this life. I take every experience and take it in stride and know that God has something in store for me.”

The former NFL quarterback also addresses the 20-year rumors that have swirled around him in regards his sexuality. He recounts a story from 1998 when a doctor called him and informed the athlete that people said he was arrested in a park for lewd acts with a transvestite.

But Stewart denies the whole story: “When that happened, I was like, ‘Man.’ It drew me closer to the Word to the point where it made me understand what this really, really was all about — it was hate. And that’s why to this day I wanted to wait until I had the opportunity to speak to you about this.”

Why is Kordell doing press about the same things we’ve been hearing him talk about for YEARS?
