Kim ‘Mortified’ by Backlash Over ‘Work’ Comments in New ‘Kardashians’ Trailer [Video]

Kim Kardashian was “mortified” by the reaction to her now-infamous “get your f*cking ass up and work” comments, according to the new trailer for the second season of Hulu’s ‘The Kardashians.’

“You saw all of the backlash on the Variety interview?” Kim says in a voice-over narration.

“No one sympathizes with you,” the Good American co-founder responds.

“I’m mortified, and I do understand why people were upset,” Kim concedes.

Kim, 41, went viral in March after she advised women in business to “get your f–king ass up and work.” Kourtney Kardashian also received immense criticism for backing the Skims creator’s comments, as Kourtney, 43, spent multiple seasons of the family’s former show, “Keeping Up With the Kardashians,” discussing how little she wants to work.

Social media blew up with commentary given how Kim was born with a silver spoon in her mouth, and even always-vocal Jameela Jamil made sure to weigh in on the comments.

“I think if you grew up in Beverly Hills with super successful parents in what was simply a smaller mansion … Nobody needs to hear your thoughts on success/work ethic,” Jamil tweeted in response.

“This same 24 hours in the day s–t is a nightmare,” she added. “99.9% of the world grew up with a VERY different 24 hours.”

Kim later clarified the out-of-touch comments, chalking them up to the age-old “taken out of context” excuse.

“Well, that statement that I said was without questions and conversation around it. It became a sound bite, really with no context,” she told “Good Morning America” co-anchor Robin Roberts in March.

The reality star further explained that she was responding to a question about the notion that she’s been in the business for 20 years yet she is still thought of as “being famous for being famous.”

“It wasn’t a blanket statement towards women or to feel like I don’t respect the work or think that they don’t work hard,” she clarified. “I know that they do. It was taken out of context, but I’m really sorry if it was received that way.”
