Kim, Khloe, and Kourtney Kardashian Sued for Not Promoting Their Beauty line

The three oldest Kardashian sisters are being sued by Hillair Capital Management for breaching their contract and not actively promoting their Kardashian Beauty line enough.

via People:

The relationship between Hillair and the Kardashians started in 2014, when the investment firm stepped in with $10 million to save the struggling makeup line after the first distributor, Boldface, went “belly up.” As part of the deal, the Kardashians would continue to be the face of the brand and “actively promote, market and support” it.

But Hillair is now claiming the Kardashians didn’t hold up their end of the bargain. The company is accusing the sisters of having “immediately” stopped marketing and promoting the line, even actively seeking out other investors to buy out Hillair.

In the complaint, Hillair stresses that “all parties understood that the Kardashians’ full support and cooperation was essential to the success of the Kardashian-branded “Kardashian Beauty” line.” And highlights the fact that “the Kardashians wanted a better deal than they had struck with Hillair. Towards this end, they failed and refused to properly market and promote the line in the hope that a more lucrative financial deal would materialize. It never did.”

The lawsuit also recognizes Kim’s recent involvement with a competitive makeup line, lending her name to a new Charlotte Tilbury “Kim KW” lipstick shade. And alleges that Khloé stated publicly at the Beauty World exhibition in Dubai in 2015 that she “hated everything about the Kardashian Beauty products and appearance.”

This actually doesn’t mark the first time the line has been caught up in legal battles. It was initially launched in 2012 under the name “Khroma Beauty” but it came under fire from Chroma, an L.A. makeup studio with a too similar-sounding name in 2013, causing the sisters to change the name to “Kardashian Beauty.”

Now that we think about it, we HAVE seen an increase in ‘Kardashian Beauty’ Instagram posts over the last few days….
