The stars came out in groves to celebrate Saturday Night Live‘s 40th anniversary, which ironically aired last night on a Sunday.
Kerry Washington, Eddie Murphy, Dave Chappelle, Whoopi Goldberg and more attended the celebration, as did Kanye West, who performed an interestingly dark medley of Jesus Walks, Only One and Wolves featuring Sia and Vic Mensa.
During the Wayne’s World sketch, Mike Myers and Dana Carvey poked fun at Kanye and his recent Grammy controversy.
“I think Beck was one of the best [musical guests over the years], even better than Beyoncé.” Looking to Kanye in the audience, Carvey added: “Kanye, sit down!”
During the lengthy special, Maya Rudolph flawlessly impersonated Beyoncé, and Kerry portrayed a ditzy doctor in the hilarious sketch The Californians.
Eddie Murphy also returned to the show and paid tribute to Chris Rock.
