Kelis seems to really be into food lately. Aside from naming her 6th studio album “FOOD” and releasing the album’s first single, “Jerk Ribs,” Kelis is following her foodie trend with a new show on the Cooking Channel.
The show, called “Saucy and Sweet,” will premiere on the channel Feb. 26 and will feature the singer’s culinary creations — “food with attitude,” a teaser on the channel’s website promises.
Her foray into TV precedes Kelis’ “FOOD” album, which is due April 21 as her first release on indie label Ninja Tune. Produced by TV on the Radio’s Dave Sitek, the album exudes its culinary theme in the tracklist, with “Jerk Ribs” joined by “Breakfast,” “Cobbler,” “Fish Fry” and “Biscuits ‘n’ Gravy.”
It’s her first release since 2010’s “Flesh Tone,” which peaked at No. 48 on the Billboard 200.
“Saucy and Sweet” will air at 8:30 p.m. ET on Wednesdays. Check out a video teaser for the show below!
