It’s all over for Katy Perry and her beau John Mayer, as they have parted ways, a source tells PEOPLE. Perry, 28 and Mayer, 35 called it quits after their second chance at love after seven months.
The pair were first linked last summer, less than a year after Perry and Russell Brand divorced. And while Mayer and Perry split briefly last August, they quickly reconciled and embarked on what seemed to be a growing love affair.

News of the split comes after Katy was spotted wearing a ruby ring from Mayer, a Christmas together with her family, and John calling their relationship “very human” and even speculating on the idea of marriage.
Hopefully this means Katy can concentrate on some new music!
