Are you as surprised as we are that Kim Kardashian didn’t immediately shrink back down to her pre-baby size? Kanye West has reportedly put his foot down in insisting that Kim Kardashian stays away from the plastic surgeon’s office.
Which makes sense, considering Kanye lost his mother due to complications following a liposuction and breast-reduction surgery.
According to Radar Online:
“Kim was certain that she wanted to have surgery after giving birth because she wanted a head start on losing her baby weight,” the source explains. But when West got wind of her plans, says the source, “He really flipped out.”
“Kanye told Kim in no uncertain terms that she needed to put her baby and her life first,” the source reveals. “He got pretty emotional because he really didn’t want her going through that kind of major surgery. He’s still traumatized from his mom’s death.”
Donda died in 2007 at the age of 58 after suffering “multiple post-operative factors” following a liposuction and breast-reduction surgery.
“Kanye was devastated by her passing and it’s made him extremely protective of those he loves,” the source explains. “He really put his foot down and told Kim the surgery ban is a condition of being with him.”
And though Kim was initially determined to follow through with her plan, “To her credit, she considered Kanye’s position and decided not to go through with the operation.”
Now, however, she might be regretting that decision.
“Kim has had a much harder time losing the baby weight than she ever anticipated,” the insider reveals. “She works out extremely hard and everyone said she would shed the weight fast, but it just hasn’t happened.”
That new self-consciousness is the reason, the source says, that she’s been uncharacteristically low-profile in recent weeks.
“Kim is telling everyone that she doesn’t want to go out in public unless she absolutely has to, because she’s still too self-conscious of her body,” the source says. “She keeps saying that she doesn’t want to have tolook at ‘fat’ pictures for years.”
“Kanye just laughs at it,” the source says. “It’s pretty obvious he thinks she’s just being dramatic. He loves the way she looks.”
And he knows that her looks, at least in part, are thanks to surgery, the source says.
“He’s fine with her getting Botox and fillers, but anything that requires getting knocked out, like lipo, is a huge no no in his book,” the source says. “They’ll find a compromise. Kanye tries to let Kim do as she pleases, but this issue is really important to him, and she understands.”
