Kanye West took to Twitter this evening in what appeared to be one of his unhinged rants, but this one just might be (mostly) warranted.
He started off mentioning his two albums — ‘Dark Fantasy’ and ‘Watch the Throne — and lamented the fact that they didn’t win album of the year. He referred to someone who DOES have two albums of the year…and we all know he’s talking about Taylor Swift.
Aside from that, the rest of his rant focused on music producer and keyboardist Bob Ezrin. Recently, Ezrin wrote a harsh critique of Kanye West as a person and his artistry. He even said Kanye’s production was “sophomoric at best.”
“Kanye’s greatest achievements have been in the form of excessive behavior, egomaniacal tantrums and tasteless grandstanding,” Ezrin wrote. “What he is a true artist at is living his life out loud – and shoving it down the throats of the rest of us whether we give a shit or not. He’s like that flasher who interrupts a critical game by running naked across the field. Is that art???”
Ezrin took it a step further and said Macklemore was more musically important than Kanye.
